Doomhole Last updated: June 18, 2026
1. Summary
Doomhole is a digital-wellbeing app developed by FortyTwo Apps. It works offline by default. It has no account, no login, no ads, no tracking, and no analytics. The only data it keeps lives on your device. The only feature that can ever use the network is optional crash reporting, which is turned off by default and sends data only if you switch it on.
2. Data stored on your device
Doomhole stores the following locally, in the app's private storage, and never transmits it off your device:
- The list of apps you choose to monitor (their package names) and the per-app settings you set for them.
- Your behavior settings (how fast the hole grows, deterrent mode, etc.).
- Your appearance settings (theme, accent, language).
- A local time-on-app counter used for optional daily-budget features.
- A record that you completed onboarding and acknowledged the accessibility disclosure (a version number and timestamp).
- A single flag recording whether you purchased Doomhole Pro.
This is ordinary on-device app data (Android DataStore) protected by Android's per-app sandbox. It is not an account, it is not uploaded, and it is not an encrypted vault. Uninstalling the app deletes it. These on-device settings are excluded from Android's Auto Backup and device-to-device transfer, so they never leave your device.
3. What Doomhole does NOT collect
- It does not read the content of your screen. The accessibility service is configured so it cannot retrieve window content. It observes only which selected app is in front and that you scrolled — never what you see, type, or read. See Accessibility & Permissions.
- It has no account system and collects no name, email, phone number, contacts, or location.
- It serves no ads and contains no advertising identifiers or third-party trackers.
- It runs no analytics.
4. Optional crash reporting
To help us fix crashes, Doomhole can send anonymous crash reports through Firebase Crashlytics (a Google service). This is opt-in and off by default — nothing is sent unless you enable "Send crash reports" in Settings.
When enabled, a crash report may include: the crash stack trace, your device model, Android version, the app version, and a random Crashlytics installation identifier. It never includes your selected-app list, anything the accessibility service observes, or any content of your screen. You can turn it off again at any time in Settings.
5. Purchases
"Doomhole Pro" is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase processed entirely by Google Play Billing. Doomhole does not see or store your payment details. We receive only confirmation that the purchase was made; the app keeps a single on-device flag to unlock the cosmetic features. There is no subscription and no other payment path.
6. Third-party services
| Service | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Firebase Crashlytics (Google) | Optional crash diagnostics (opt-in, off by default) | Crash stack trace, device model, OS/app version, random install ID |
| Google Play Billing (Google) | One-time in-app purchase | Purchase confirmation (no payment details reach the app) |
When crash reporting is enabled, data is handled under Google's Privacy Policy and the Crashlytics terms.
7. Data retention
- On-device data: kept until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Crash reports (only if you opt in): retained per Google's standard Firebase Crashlytics retention period.
8. Your rights
Because Doomhole holds no account and stores your data only on your device, you are in direct control:
- Access / change / delete: all your settings live in the app; clearing the app's data or uninstalling removes everything.
- Opt out of crash reporting: toggle it off in Settings at any time (it is off by default).
- Revoke the accessibility permission anytime in your device's system settings.
For users in the EU/EEA and UK, the GDPR/UK-GDPR rights of access, rectification, erasure, and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority apply. As we hold no personal data on any server, most requests are satisfied directly on your device. For any question, contact us below.
9. Children's privacy
Doomhole is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) and does not knowingly collect data from them.
