Safety & Wellbeing
Doomhole Last updated: June 18, 2026
Not a medical device
Doomhole is a digital-wellbeing aid intended to help you notice and reduce compulsive scrolling. It is not a medical device and is not a diagnosis or treatment for any condition, including any form of addiction or mental-health condition. If compulsive phone use is seriously affecting your life, please seek help from a qualified professional.
Photosensitivity caution
Doomhole displays an animated, high-contrast, full-screen visual effect (the growing black hole), and an optional experimental "Screen warp" effect that distorts the screen. Animated or flashing visuals can, in rare cases, trigger discomfort, dizziness, or photosensitive seizures in susceptible individuals.
If you have a history of photosensitive epilepsy or seizures, please be cautious. If you feel unwell, dizzy, or experience any adverse reaction, stop using the effect immediately — turn off the accessibility service and/or the screen-warp toggle — and consult a medical professional.
Use your judgment
Doomhole is a gentle nudge, not a safety system. It is not a substitute for your own judgment about when and how you use your device.
